My delicious ice cream in a bag!

Scientific lab report: Ice-cream in a bag

Hypothesis
It will taste very yum the Ice and salt will mix and taste yuck!
We are doing this experiment because … we want to see what happens when salt is added to ice and if Ice-cream can be made with only a few ingredients.

Materials/equipment used:

  • Milk, sugar, ice, salt, vanilla,
  • Cup Spoons
  • Snap lock bags 2 different sizes

Procedure

  1.  In a small resealable plastic bag, combine whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla. Push out excess air and seal.
  2. Into a large resealable plastic bag, combine ice and salt. Place small bag inside the bigger bag and shake vigorously, 7 to 10 minutes, until ice cream has hardened.
  3. Remove from bag and enjoy.

Results
I saw the milk start to thicken and get all chunky and the ice melt and tasted like sea water.

Data and analysis
They were all the same but they weren’t all the same thickness.
All of the experiments had the same reaction but some were runny.

Conclusion
The salt lowers the temperature at which water freezes so which the temperature is below the freezing point so the water melted.
I learnt that when salt and water are put together the water melts faster and the salt dissolves.
Dissolves, thicken, chunky, ice
